DISH Network Increases HD Channels
EchoStar Communications Corporation and its DISH Network satellite TV service announced recently that it is increasing its high-definition (HD) offerings with a number of new channels over the next three months.
DISH Network recently launched eight regional sports networks (RSNs) in HD, including:
- Fox Sports Net (FSN) Arizona
- FSN Northwest
- FSN Cincinnati
- FSN Pittsburgh
- FSN Detroit
- FSN North
- SportsTime Ohio
- SportsNet New York
Including the seven HD RSNs launched earlier this year, DISH Network now offers a total of 17 RSNs in HD.
On August 15th, DISH Network will rollout seven national HD channels that will be added to its DishHD package. Channels in the package include:
- MHD (featuring music programming from MTV, VH1, and CMT)
- Golf/Versus HD
- Animal Planet HD
- The Science Channel HD
- TLC HD
- Discovery HD
- History HD (available September 1st)
According to the company, these HD channel additions will give DISH Network the largest national HD line-up available.
